Website Design Brief
Last saved by Antony Scott on September 27, 2012
Below is a 'straw man' design brief for discussion/extension/dissent(ion)
- A compelling banner, incorporating dates, logo, OSGeo logo (AGI logo?)
- A three-coluumn design to allow more content 'above the fold', eg sponsors + content + feeds, or menu + content + feeds, or some other combination
- More content/links/widgets generally on home page
- More width (See Denver, Victoria, Sydney, Cape Town)
- A colour scheme (background, surround, text, linked text, headings) to run through the site
- Clearer/bigger headings for feeds (ie Twitter, blogs, news)
- Smaller font size for body text
- Smaller headings on main pages (in fact consistent heading sizes and heirarchy throughout)
- Footer with contact, credits (OSGeo logo?)
- Smaller pictures with no (or shadow?) border, smaller captions
- Less vertical space above and below headings
- More prominent menu items
- etc

Here's a proposal for a design brief for the website. Suggest we edit/add comments over the next few days with a view to getting something tied down by the end of the week (29th) so that Barry has something to work with (assuming we are taking up Jo's kind offer on his behalf). Jo/Barry - what other questions do we need to answer?
Might be good for people to add a note underneath when they've reviewed, so we know when everyone has seen it.

I may or may not be there- but I'm happy for you two to discuss it and let me know if there's anything I need to do from an infrastructure perspective.

Content- is up to us and not the designer- what more do we want to see on the home page?
