In discussions with a Gold and Diamond level sponsor at present
Eclipse - looking for low key exposure in return for filming and upload of videos which have an eclipse logo on the videos. If they can pay for a silver, could they be labelled as a platinum sponsor.

Update from Academic track

Final call for papers has gone out on various channels
no submissions as yet
some reviewers have been invited
system is working and is linked through from the FOSS4G website
A reminder to go out on all channels asap

Call for papers out
more work planned for voting for papers

1st day - 2-3 speakers

Series of key stream speakers who set the "feel" for the day

Registration

Registration can be up by the end of the month IF CG can get a list of the costs for each package. To do this SF and CG need to tie up the loose nds that will impact on pricing.

Hack

IE will sort out a Hack Meeting about this before next meeting

Contract update

Marquee - not included in venue contract, deal with Field and Lawn directly. This avoids a 7% handling fee from the event. Hawthornes (elec contractors) seem helpful so looks easier to deal directly. CG to arrange meeting with them at AGI HQ.
WiFi - details in contract include 9am-6pm support and if there are significant outages then they refund 50% of the WiFi fee. JM suspects they will not accept this, but it highlights the importance that the LOC place on the WiFi connection. JC remembers a complaint system from Victoria that would allow users who are having difficulties to log their complaint at the time. Having people register means we can monitor the numbers
Hotel rooms - seems to be ok, minimum of 350?!?
Need 2 cheques - i) 20k for venue ii) one for marquee but not sure how much.

Hi all
As flagged, Sustain no longer has a WebEx account, so unfortunately I can't organise the call on Friday. We have a new conferencencing system, but I've not been able to make it work yet, so no go at the moment - hopefully we'll be able to use it in the future once I've got to grips with it.

Jeremy, are you able to organise the call on your WebEx? As it happens I probably won't be able to make the call anyway.

I'm happy to host the call - but like last time I can host a conference-call phone number & optionally associated screen sharing but not full WebEx.

Anyone else have WebEx? Or we could try Skype?

Did Santa not bring us an Apache OpenMeetings or BigBlueButton server for
christmas? Darn. I suspect the downside of those solutions would be lack of
PSTN phone-in support.

I could probably hijack a box and install one of those servers. Actually
I'd just re-hijack the machine I used to develop the web site. A permanent
solution could also be found.

The university here may or may not have an Adobe Connect hosting service,
the docs say the end-date was June 2011. I don't know if it works for Macs
and Linuxes, so I've asked.
