❏ Post event delegate and sponsor feedback surveys

Comments

Steven Feldman on September 9, 2013:

I guess we will want to ask delegates (and sponsors) to give us some feedback

We could use Survey Monkey or Google Docs which has served us well.

Anyone fancy drafting some questions and sharing for comment before putting them into a survey?

Barry Rowlingson on September 9, 2013:

I haven't said this for a while, but what did Denver do? Is there an existing set of qs we could just repeat - this would also allow consistency between conferences...

Jo Cook on September 9, 2013:

This is possibly the one time I'd be happy to go with whatever has been done before- for consistency and to save time :-)

Peter Batty on September 9, 2013:

Hi all,

GITA did this for us, but we used Survey Monkey and attached is a PDF which lets you see the questions we used. This is probably as much as I know, but if you have questions let me know!

Cheers,
    Peter.

Steven Feldman on September 10, 2013:

Let's start with the questions that Denver used adjusted for a different workshop program.

Maybe add:
Favourite presentation
Favourite keynote
Favourite workshop
Would you attend a FOSS4G event again (in your home country, in your home continent, elsewhere)

@Claire can you give us the list of sponsor questions that you have used?

Rollo Home on September 10, 2013:

That's a great document Peter. I wonder how you distilled that information (especially the comments). Did all that go into the lessons learnt?

Claire Gilmour on September 12, 2013:

these were last years sponsor feedback questions:

In your opinion, what was the best thing about this year's conference?

How would you rate the Conference Venue (East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham)?
Excellent
Good
Average
Below Average
Poor

Did you think your sponsorship package provided value for money?
Yes, very much so
Yes, it was reasonably priced
No
If not why not?

Typically, what do you expect to get out of the AGI conference? (please tick more than one if applicable)
New business
Professional and social networking
Account management/existing client contact
Raise your company profile
Opportunity to launch new products
Access to new ideas, methods and technology
A free public 'trade show'
Other (please specify)

Did you feel that the conference this year fulfilled your expectations in those areas listed in the question above?
Yes
No
Do you have any additional comments?

Did the East Midlands Conference Centre display area for sponsors/exhibitors meet your requirements?
Yes
No
If not, why not?

How could we better meet your needs in terms of duration?
1 day
2 days
2 days with an 'Icebreaker' type event evening before conference opens
3 days

Would you welcome the following changes? (please tick more than one if applicable)
None, maintain the current conference format (i.e. residential and fully integrated)
Non residential conference (i.e. provide no hotel room packages)
Larger exhibitor area
More exhibitors
Three day event rather than two

If we decided not to print an event guide and to hand out bags, what would you like to replace the advert and insert which is part of the sponsorship package?

In 2013, we will be running the FOSS4G conference directly after the AGI GeoCommunity conference, are you likely to:
Sponsor AGI GeoCommunity only
Sponsor FOSS4G only
Sponsor both
Sponsor neither

Why will you not be sponsoring AGI GeoCommunity next year?
Current circumstances will not permit it.
The event is not for us.
Is there anything we can do to rectify this?

Would you like to have a representative from your company on the Conference Committee?
Yes
No

Please let us know if you have any further comments. We are always willing to consider new ideas to improve the conference and sponsorship packages.

Steven Feldman on September 26, 2013:

Barry Rowlingson on September 27, 2013:

On the delegate feedback form the 'which day' q was a single-choice multiple choice response, changed it to checkboxes, also fixed spelling of Clive Granger.

Do we want an 'are you from: business/education/government/charity/healthcare/other options sector' question?

Franz-Josef Behr on September 27, 2013:

Just some suggestions:

The program was significant for my professional development.
The selected topics were relevant for my country/region.
FOSS4G paved the way for common projects.

Steven Feldman on September 30, 2013:

Delegates
I have added the question on employing sector that Barry suggested and also a one line quotable question at the end to capture the kind of topic FJ suggested

Sponsors
No changes

Could a couple of you just run through each form submitting responses so that we can check the workflow and then I will send out by mail tomorrow

Barry Rowlingson on September 30, 2013:

Have done. You may wish to delete Jack Dangermond's responses before analysing the data.

Barry Rowlingson on September 30, 2013:

Or were we supposed to fill it in as ourselves?

Steven Feldman on September 30, 2013:

I'll be deleting all of the responses before publishing the links :)

Peter Batty on September 30, 2013:

I don't know if this is to late, but I'd be interested to add the following questions:

Did you attend FOSS4G 2011 in Denver?
Did you attend FOSS4G 2010 in Barcelona?

These would just be helpful in understanding better the overlap / continuity from one event to another (we have speculated / inferred some stuff but would be good to know more specifically).

Steven Feldman on September 30, 2013:

Denver, Barcelona question inserted

Jo Cook on October 1, 2013:

Should we specifically say that we won't be storing any identifiable personal information? I'm thinking in the Delegates form where we say right at the top that we're going to share info with the 2014 event.

Steven Feldman on October 1, 2013:

I have amended slightly
