This module utilizes the SQLiteJDBC driver made available as part of the Xerial
project:

However we use a slighty modified version of it in which SpatiaLite is compiled
directly into the jdbc driver. The reason being that sqlitejdbc used its own 
copy of sqlite. And spatialite does the same so this results in problems when 
the two are used together. 

The sqlitejdbc.patch file is used to modify the sqlitejdbc sources in order to 
add support for spatialite.
