I get similar, and d.m does not start. When I copy monitorcap from, say cvs
21-01-2006 into 20-02-2006' /etc/ directory, d.m starts but get tcl-gui error
message "Error: child process exited abnormally".

By the way, the problem reported several weeks ago (sorry, forget ticket no.)
regarding raster images not displaying (but vector images displaying fine) now
works fine with cvs 21-01-2006. It is the most recent I have tried, besides
20-02-2006. However, nviz is broken (works fine with same files using grass
6.0.2).

These issues notwithstanding, good work on evolving grass (wish I could help
beyond reporting problems, but cannot code worth a darn).

Regards,
Rick

Sorry, Para 1 in previous should have said:

. . . but get tcl-gui error message "Error: child process exited abnormally"
when I try to start up any display (either with raster, with vector, or blank).
Regards,
Rick

Hi,

there habe been substantial improvements in the tcl/tk part.
Could you please retry? Hopefully the problem is gone now.

We assume that the problem is solved in 6.2/6.3. Feel free to re-open if not.
Markus

Hi Markus,
This bug is solved. Thanks.
There is a new problem:

First I installed (with no problems) these packages:
avce00-2.0.0.tar.gz gdal-cvs-2006.10.31.tar.gz proj-4.5.0.tar.gz
e00compr-1.0.0.tar.gz tcl8.4.14-src.tar.gz
fftw-3.1.2.tar.gz tk8.4.14-src.tar.gz
Then I attempted to install the main package:
grass-6.2.0.tar.gz
using:
CFLAGS="-g -Wall" ./configure --enable-64bit
--with-libs=/usr/lib64
--with-postgresql-includes=/usr/local/pgsql/include
and did get negative results:
checking for location of PostgreSQL includes...
checking for libpq-fe.h... no
configure: error: *** Unable to locate PostgreSQL includes.
./conf-grass.sh: line 2: --with-libs=/usr/lib64: No such file or
directory
./conf-grass.sh: line 3:
--with-postgresql-includes=/usr/local/pgsql/include: No such file or
directory
********************************************************************
It seems to me hat contradicts the actual data:
lib64 is in /usr:
drwxr-xr-x 111 root root 98304 Nov 4 14:18 lib64
include and pgsql both are in /usr/local:
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Nov 4 09:19 include
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 Nov 3 17:31 pgsql
Any ideas what to do next ?
Best Regards
Jonas

You need to install the postgresql-devel package to
compile GRASS with PG support (likewise for other drivers).

Closing report.
