Subject: GUI: break comments too

Platform: GNU/Linux/x86
grass obtained from: CVS
grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources
GRASS Version: 2006-04-23

Please break long text pieces in the GUI's.

Eg. v.select - see at the text below the field 'Name of output vector map'. It's
to long to fit in the window.

I'm not sure if this report reached you. Please take a look. Coould it be
fixed before making gis.m the default?

Maciek,

I know it's confusing sometimes. But the module GUIs are still largely
unrelated to gis.m or d.m. Whether we use gis.m or d.m will not affect text
being long in module GUIs.

That said, I think this has been fixed. In fact, if anything, it seems like
it has gone a bit far the other way.

Michael

Cedrick made it to break text in the module description section in
GUIs. So I thought it would also be possible for other pieces of text.
Impossible?

I don't understand. What's fixed? Have you tried the example I gave in
the bug report? If not, please run 'v.select&' and see how the text in
lowest line doesn't fit the window. There is plenty of modules like
that. I still experience this with CVS built just a while ago.

I haven't tried that one but noticed that a recent change has the modules
opening much narrower and text dynamically breaking. Maybe this doesn't yet
help v.select.

Done. To do it the help type description's gotta be packed first. This makes
things look wrong in programs run from gis.m because of the narrow starting
width. It's now imperative that I find a way to set the width of the gui
window when run from gis.m.
