Hi,
can you please try again from the current CVS version and,
if not working, copy paste the error message? [works for me]

In the CVS:
http://freegis.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/grass6/raster3d/Makefile?rev=3D1.7&c=
ontent-type=3Dtext/vnd.viewcvs-markup
The Makefile still doesn't contain r3.in.rast as a subdir. Thus I
suspect it still won't try to compile the directory. Unfortunately I
can't try current CVS due to me being behind a firewall.

Hi Markus,
Sorry to disturb you again, but I honestly can't see r3.in.rast
mentioned *anywhere* in that file. Is it included through the "base" sub
dir or something?
From the file you sent:
SUBDIRS = \
r3.in.ascii \
r3.in.v5d \
r3.out.ascii \
r3.out.v5d \
r3.out.vtk \
r3.to.rast \
base
There is no r3.in.rast, only r3.in.ascii and r3.in.v5d
If I'm missing something important than just ignore me...

What a strange machine man is. You fill him with bread, wine, fish, and
radishes, and out come sighs, laughter and dreams.

Yes, the name is simply different :-)
GRASS 6.1.cvs (patUTM):~/grass61/lib/db > r3.in.rast help
bash: r3.in.rast: command not found
We have:
r3.in.ascii r3.in.v5d r3.mask r3.null r3.out.v5d r3.timestamp
r3.info r3.mapcalc r3.mkdspf r3.out.ascii r3.out.vtk r3.to.rast
So you are looking for r3.to.rast IMHO.
Closing again

Hi once more,
r3.in.rast converts raster files to 3d rasters.
r3.to.rast converts 3d rasters into a series of raster files.
