Subject: d.vect label formating backwards
The results of the label positioning options in d.vect appears to be backward
from the expected
position. i.e., left (xref=left) puts it to the right, right puts it to the left,
top (yref=top) puts it to the
bottom, etc.

It is not a bug, it was intened to work this way.
xref=left means left side of the label.
ps.map:
"ref. This reference point specifies the text handle - what part of the text
should be placed on the location specified by the map coordinates.
Reference points can refer to: [lower|upper|center] [left|right|center]
of the text to be printed;"

I now understand why this is behaving the way it is. Even if this is a
'feature' and not a 'bug' it behaves backward from what anyone used to
formatting text would expect. Maybe it needs to be described
differently. For example: 'label edge to align with map point', or
something like that.
