Subject: gis.m: creating location with georeferenced file gives
Platform: GNU/Linux/x86
grass obtained from: CVS
grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources
GRASS Version: cvs_head_20061012
Trying to create a new location in the startup screen on the basis of a georeferenced
file, I get the following error. I can create a new, correctly defined location
without problems using 'v.in.ogr location='.

Subject: wingrass: creating new location from startup screen fails with georeferenced
file
Platform: WindowsNT/2000/XP
grass obtained from: Other (CDROM etc)
grass binary for platform: Downloaded precompiled Binaries
GRASS Version: huidae's wingrass version sept. 17
Trying to create a new location from the startup screen in wingrass using a georeferenced
file gives the following error:
channel "console2" wasn't opened for writing
channel "console2" wasn't opened for writing
while executing
"exec -- g.proj -c georef=$filepath location=$fileLocation >@stdout 2>@stderr"
invoked from within
".fileloc.def invoke"
("uplevel" body line 1)

Moritz,
It looks like g.proj is failing. You might try g.proj from the command line
to do this and see what happens.

I do not get this error if I start grass from a msys terminal, instead of
using grass.bat.
Any reason to use cmd.exe as terminal, instead of the msys terminal ?

bug report 5216 actually contains two seperate bugs. Don't know how I
managed to put them into the same ticket...

I actually cannot reproduce this anymore... don't know what happened.
So: bug report about general problem can be closed, but bug for wingrass
still remains valid (see other mails).
