hello!
working with d.path I encountered following problems:

the second time without closing it. the first run works fine, the seconds crashes.

d.path requires an interactive x-display. This is the root of the problem you
see. We've switched almost all of the displays to a TclTk canvas, but some
modules still require the old display system. d.path is one of them. This
makes it much more complicated to start from the GUI than the great majority
of GRASS modules.
When d.path is run from the GIS Manager menu, an x-display is opened
automatically at launch for your convenience. But you still will have to
manually run d.vect to get your network to display before you can visualize
shortest paths with d.path. It seems that d.vect must be run from the GRASS
command line as the GIS Manager output gronsole is temporarily frozen during
a
d.path session. But otherwise d.path itself seems to work OK, and gronsole
comes back to life after stopping d.path. I stopped and restarted d.path
without problem from the GUI.

Because d.path depends on an x11 terminal display, it will not work in a gis.m
TclTk monitor. It should work fine in d.m (I've had no problem) and you can
use it in an x11 display (better done from the command line) in gis.m
