subject: v.what and d.what.vect
platform: Linux/Intel
vendor: RedHat
cputype: Intel (i486, i586, pentium ...)
xwindows: Xfree 4.0.1
windowsmanager: GNOME
tcltkver: tcl/tk 8.3
grassserver: CVS Server, Germany
grassversion: I compiled the sources myself
cvsyesno: yes, I am using the latest GRASS from CVS
compiler: gcc
bugreport: v.what/d.what.vect:
v.what -i and d.what.vect are very similar and could be merged to one module?
Not quite sure here.
I would propose to make v.what and r.what the script-only module and d.what.(vect|rast)
the commandline-only module.
The r./v.what is still required for script use.

This was worked on some time ago. Although the v.what/d.what.vect and
r.what/d.what.rast modules are not optimal, i think that the current solution
is not that bad. This should be worked on in GRASS 5.1.
