Subject: Edit box cannot edit

Platform: GNU/Linux/i386
grass obtained from: Trento Italy site
grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources

On Fedora Core3(i386) and SUSE 9.2 (i386), I compiled the source of GRASS 5.4
(also GDAL, PROJ4). Each command of GRASS 5.4 could well perform on the shell.
However, in the dialog window of GUI, I cannot edit the string within the edit
boxes, althouth the bottons within the dialog window could well perform and select
the potions. In the edit box, I pressed the key, but non of changes could appeared.

are you trying to edit the text in the box on the bottom of the GUI
(that won't work) or in the text box of each option?

Not at the the bottom of the GUI, the problem was in the text box of each option.
For example, I could select the name of raster data, but could not edit it or
directly input it.

This phenomena appeared when I installed the FC3 in the clean install mode. In
the case upgraded the FC1 by FC3, this phenomena did not appear.

Finally I found the reason of this problem.
Fedora Core3 has adopted the IIIMF server as an input method for
multi-language system. However, GRASS GUI(tcltkgrass) does not correspond to
this system. To solve this problem, kill the IIIMF server and change the input
method other than IIIMF.

For Japanese users, you can see the steps to solve this problem at the
following HP.

Closing it. Thanks for the workaround.
