Subject: d.scale documentation out-of-date

Platform: WindowsNT/2000/XP
grass obtained from: Trento Italy site
grass binary for platform: Downloaded precompiled Binaries
GRASS Version: 5.0.2

On-line documentation for d.scale incorrectly describes the at= option of d.scale.
Incorect (re-typed by hand):

at = x,y The map easting (x) and northing (y) geographic coordinates des-
ignating the location at which the upper left corner of the scale
is to be placed. The user should choose geographic coordinates
located within the current geographic region (see d.where and g.region
for these coordinates).
         Default: 0.0,0.0

Better (My interpretation):

at = x, y The display coordinates designating the location at which the upper
left corner of the scale is to be placed. Each edge of the display
is divided into 100 units, with 0.0,0.0 being the upper left corner
and 100.0,100.0 being the lower right corner of the display.
          Default (0.0, 0.0)

Note that src/display/d.scale/main.c & draw_scale.c still have seemingly
unused but uncommented code in them to deal with converting from geographic
coordinates to screen coordinates.

Maybe this is a fortunate bug. I would think that having it go as a percentage
of screen size is more useful way of doing it anyhow.
?

Also, at=x,y currently is more like at=top, left (y,x) and Default at=0.0,0.0
draws to at=0,20 on my screen.

d.scale is now superseded by 'd.barscale -l'.

Thus, no point in doing any more work on it.

This bug should be closed once d.scale is removed from CVS.
