Subject: can't read "_data(.gronsole.gronsole,4,donecmd)": no such element in

Platform: Mac OSX
grass obtained from: Other (CDROM etc)

Can you duplicate this with the Spearfish sample data?
What exact steps are you using?
Are you using the internal X11 TclTk or an Aqua TclTk?
I tried a couple rasters and vectors in Spearfish on a PPC Mac with
no problems, X11 TclTk. Sorry for all the questions, but it'll help
narrow the problem down. Specifically, I'm interested in any Mac app
packaging and PPC vs Intel problems.

Hi William,

Using the spearfish data we get the same error (see below). We =20
downloaded the data, de-tarred it and launched GRASS. Then in GIS =20
manager, we chose to add a vector map, chose (arbitrarily) geology =20
and pushed the display button in the map display window.

FYI, we downloaded
http://www.kyngchaos.com/files/software/unixport/GRASS.app-6.2b2-1.dmg
http://www.kyngchaos.com/files/software/unixport/AllFrameworks.dmg
and the MacOSX package from
http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActiveTcl/
Do you need any other info ?
Thanks !
Didier

Try unsetting GRASS_TCLSH and GRASS_WISH, so it uses the builtin X11
Tcl/Tk. Any errors?

Got it! You forgot to set osxaqua=1 in your environment. I knew it
was needed for a Tcl/Tk Aqua, I just forgot why until I tried it this
time. It's mentioned in the GRASS.app readme. Just remember that
osxaqua should not be set when using an X11 TclTk.

It *should* work as a GRASS env variable, it did when I worked on it
a few months ago. Try putting it in your .bash_profile instead.
I'll have to change the readme.
