sorry, r.out.tiff does call G_percent(). If it doesn't show up then it's a bug
raster/r.out.tiff$ grep percent *
r.out.tiff.c:                           G_percent (row, h.ras_height, 1);
r.out.tiff.c:                           G_percent (row, h.ras_height, 2);
r.out.tiff.c:                   G_percent (row, h.ras_height, 2);

As of current CVS there is progress indicator now in GUI, though still a
redundant message is printed under the progress bar (both while module is
working and after that) "r.out.tiff: complete ...". It shouldn't be there,
should it?

... still an issue and a *real* problem?

Yup. Moreover, now in GRASS 6.3 CVS there, again, is no progrees bar *unless*
the -v switch is used.

In Poland we have a saying "The way they see you, is the way they'll write
about you" ;).

Do we want to keep r.out.tiff (for GRASS 7) since r.out.gdal[2] is there?

Propably the only feature of r.out.tiff impossible to reproduce with the old
(script) r.out.gdal was the region sensitivenes. If I'm correct and if that's
dealt with in the new (C) r.out.gdal, we should consider removing r.out.tiff
in GRASS 7, I guess.

Shall I add it to WIKI GRASS 7 notes?
