subject: d.save does not work with text

platform: Linux/Intel

vendor: RedHat

cputype: Intel (i486, i586, pentium ...)

xwindows: Xfree 4.0.1

windowsmanager: GNOME

tcltkver: tcl/tk 8.3

grassserver: CVS Server, Germany

grassversion: I compiled the sources myself

cvsyesno: yes, I am using the latest GRASS from CVS

bugreport: d.save does not work with text output.
The text is not saved.
Even if it should technically not possible to save / restore the text, it should
be possible to comment/remove etc. the d.text line in the d.save script to not
break the saved script.

i'll be more specific for the problem:
:
# Shell Script created by d.save Fri Jan 4 22:35:40 2002

# Here are the commands to create window: full_screen
d.frame -ec frame=full_screen at=0,100,0,100
d.erase
g.region n=55:30N s=46:30N e=15:30E w=5:30E nsres=0:00:18 ewres=0:00:18

d.rast map=deutschland # 3
d.vect map=dnnet color=indigo # 2
d.text size=2 color=black line=3 # 1

d.frame -s frame=full_screen

This script is created, and if run, i get:

Please enter text instructions. Enter EOF (ctrl-d) on last line to quit

But i think this is acceptable. Would be better if the text is stored with the
pad, but i don't know if this is possible.

It works now, additional thanks go to Glynn who re-wrote my first attempt.
