It works here (at least 1 minute ago...).

Are you on the wrong CVS branch?
The main branch is not working, development is on the
"releasebranch_11_april_2001_5_0_0", check here for more details:

I see the correct branch in the CVS/Entries file, anyway I updated
again my cvs copy with

cvs update -r releasebranch_11_april_2001_5_0_0
cvs up -dP

as suggested on the GRASS web site, just to make sure I haven't
overlooked anything, and compiled again... same problem.
See also my configure problem in bug 882.
This evening I will check how it works at home on my Mandrake box.
Best regards
Andrea aime

Just to make sure, I checked out again in a fresh directory:

export
CVSROOT=:pserver:grass-guest@intevation.de:/home/grass/grassrepository
cvs login
cvs -z3 checkout -r releasebranch_11_april_2001_5_0_0 grass

I deleted the old install directory /usr/local/grass5, deleted
$HOME/.grassrc5, made configure (with the same problems reported in bug
802),
make, make install and the problem is still there...
can anyone with a RedHat 7.2 install try the same?
Sigh, it worked with my first install, when I checked out GRASS two days
ago...
Best regards
Andrea Aime

PS: is the any monitor related file that may haven't been deleted
while erasing /usr/local/grass5?

Hi everybody,
in fact the XDRIVER wasn't built because I didn't
have the X11 includes installed. See also my post about
bug 880 (that is, it's definitely my fault by configure
could have helped me a bit more... maybe just asking
me to have a look at config.log, the problem became
obvious as soon as I gave a look into it)
