Subject: NVIZ freeze on Debian Sarge
Platform: GNU/Linux/x86
grass obtained from: Trento Italy site
grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources
GRASS Version: CVS checked out at 20060808
Calling up NVIZ both from the command line or by the map display button results
in a NVIT-freeze. The initial windows pop up and the "Please wait" message is
printed.
If NVIZ is called up from a map display (with some raster data), the "translating
colors for fp 99%" message ist printed before the freeze occurs.

Hi Peter,
did you probably try to load the world at 1cm resolution or so?
There are numerous Debian users around, I am not aware of
such complaints.
