Subject: v.to.db: manual suggests 'type=area', however 'Error: value <area> out
of range'
Platform: GNU/Linux/x86
grass obtained from: CVS
grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources
GRASS Version: CVS 2005.01.27
EXAMPLES section contains following:
v.to.db map=soils type=area option=cat
v.to.db map=soils type=area option=area col=area_size unit=h
But this yields:
Error: value <area> out of range for parameter <type>
Is it a mistake in documentation or is v.to.db supposed to support type=area
(that would make sense...)?

I'm really asking this:
Is type=area presence in the v.to.db manual a typo (I can fix it then) or is
type=area not supported indeed (using it gives Error: value <area> out of
range for parameter <type>)? Why not supported?

Sorry, I'm to tired to write anything. It's a bite late here in Poland :-6 and
|(. I meant to write:
Is type=area presence in the v.to.db manual a typo (I can fix it then) or is
type=area supposed to be supported indeed (using it gives Error: value <area>
out of range for parameter <type>), thus it's a bug? And why type=area not
supported if so?

Maybe Radim knows the answer?

Radim said on the dev list:
