Subject: gism2: missing the old-style zoom
Platform: GNU/Linux/x86
grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources
GRASS Version: grass6 cvs 20060117
Hello,
the zoom in the new GIS Manager 2 is admittedly easier to use than the earlier
system, but to try to zoom to a certain area with a combination of zoom to centre
- pan is a hell. I hope you can include the old-style zoom-to-window feature
to the new, otherwise very handy looking GIS Manager, too.
Greetings,

On closer examination, the old-style window-zoom is still there, but the
functionality has somewhat changed: this time you have to hold the button down
and mark the window. I still prefer the old zoom, where you mark the both
corners with separate clicks: it gave a nice way to back off if you realized
the first point was in wrong place, after all.
Another thing is, that you have to re-click the zoom button to continue
zooming; I rather liked the "zoom mode", where you could keep on zooming and
unzooming until you got it right.

I fully second that.
