resulted in
failure to create /usr/local/grass5/etc/monitorcap
asks me if I am root user
if I create the monitorcap directory myself, the install program omits it,
asks me if I am root user
of course I am logged on as root |

Hi,
please can you check if the problem is still there with GRASS pre2 version?
I can not reproduce your problem, maybe due to missing data from your
installation. I suspect that the problem is from a very unusual setup (missing
program, unusual permissions etc.).
Please contact me if you still have the problem.

I was not contacted in 4 weeks by the creator of the bug report.
I can not reproduce, so i close this ticket now.

Thanks for your attention on this. I have not been able to get GRASS
installed yet but I am still learning Linux. I didn't even think to
check the file permissions. Thanks again.
