---------------------------------------------------------------------------
subject: Nviz2.2 segmentation violation
area: grass5beta11
platform: Linux/Intel
vendor: Debian
cputype: Intel (i486, i586, pentium ...)
xwindows: Xfree 3.3.6
windowsmanager: Enlightment
tcltkver: tcl/tk 8.2
grassserver: CVS Server, Germany
grassversion: -- select --
cvsyesno: yes, I am using the latest GRASS from CVS
compiler: gcc
compiler_version: 2.95.2
bugreport: I'm unable to open NVIZ:
Child killed:segmentation violation
while executing
"exec /usr/local/grass5/etc/nviz2.2/NVWISH2.2 -f
/usr/local/grass5/etc/nviz2.2/scripts/nviz2.2_script -name NVIZ >&@stdout"
("eval" body line 1)
invoked from within
"eval exec $env(GISBASE)/etc/nviz2.2/NVWISH2.2 -f
$env(GISBASE)/etc/nviz2.2/scripts/nviz2.2_script $CMD -name NVIZ >&@stdout
(file "/usr/local/grass5/bin/nviz2.2" line92)
Sorry if it's not a bug, but I'm not familiar with NVIZ, and after
compiling grass, error.log is empty.
I've used the spearfish dataset to try it and I obtain the same
message with different raster files.
I've trying both fifo's and socket compil with the same result.
Hope it helped, and thank's for this great work.

Sorry to say, but only a local compile of NVIZ will help.
It seems to be a Linux bug (not GRASS).
