Hi,
it seems that you didn't select the location correctly.

Hi,
I can't reproduce that error. Can you explain in details, step by step, how to
reproduce it? What GRASS version, exactly? Can you create a new mapset and
enter it in text mode (start GRASS with 'grass6 -text'; to start in GUI mode
again do it as 'grass63 -gui'; see 'grass63 -help' for details).
Best,
Maciek

With help from Markus Nateler and Martin Hinz I understood what the bug report
is about.
Good news is that the problem is fixed in GRASS 6.3.
However the problem is still there in GRASS 6.2.2 CVS 13.01.07. It would be
nice if the relevant fix was backported.

Maciek,
I am not sure what needs to be fixed in 6.2 - maybe Paul or
Michael could help?

Did you ask them? Michael is not talking to me (I'm telling Mom! :)). Maybe
Paul would know but Michael is propably the best person to ask.

Is this still an issue with latest 6.2.CVS? We are close to 6.2.2 release:
