Fri, Apr 7 2006 13:54:45    Request created by guest
Subject: r.prof

Platform: WindowsNT/2000/XP
grass obtained from: Trento Italy site
grass binary for platform: Downloaded precompiled Binaries
GRASS Version: GRASS 6.0.0 (2005)

I would like the functionality so that multiple displayed rasters (in the same
monitor) may be profiled simultaneeously. Ideally, graphical output in a window
similar to d.profile would be ideal so the different (co-located) profiles could
be viewed in addition to an outputted ascii file of distance versus the z values
for the different rasters.

Thanks!

Garret

use r.profile or r.transect and then feed the result into d.graph,
d.linegraph, etc or externally into gnuplot, octave, xgraph, Matlab,
spreadsheet, etc....

Thanks for your reply but how does this solve the problem of getting a
co-located profile of more than one raster, e.g. i have 3 rasters of
topography, slope and second derivative and I want a plot showing the
variation of these values from (mouse specified) x to y. At the moment
r.profile only allows one argument for "rast=3D ".

I think this would be very useful functionality.

Thanks,

Garret

r.profile:
 -i Interactively select End-Points
-g Output easting and northing in first two columns of four column output
for the 2nd,3rd etc map use the start/end points gleaned from -g on 1st
with the 'r.profile profile=' option.

or use d.where to find endpoints and use 'r.profile profile=' for all 3 raster
maps.

Changing this bug to a wish: r.profile accept multiple input maps.
