In REQUIREMENTS.html add a link, both on the website and in the
tarball, to debian/control, or something like that.

Or you can paste debian/control right into REQUIREMENTS.html.

Debian 6.0beta2 is now in Debian/testing.

There is a debian/ directory in the 6.0 source code which contains a valid
control file.

I think the combination of those two things makes this wish redundant, as only
advanced debian users will be compiling from source, and they should be able
to spot a directory called "debian" pretty easily and know what it means.

Hi,

IMHO no need for action. GRASS 6.1-CVS comes with a
functional debian/ subdirectory.

And apt-get resolves the dependencies.
