The style point dialog is opened when you click on a style preview in the Layer Styles panel and the geometric type of the feature class is point. The style point dialog allows you to choose a symbol type, style and orientation.
To enable a point symbol, select a symbol type from the symbol select box. You can choose from pre-defined mark symbols, fonts, and library symbols. You can also choose not to display a symbol by selecting 'No Symbol'.
Mark symbols are pre-defined by the server. You can select from the following mark symbols:
If you choose a mark symbol, you can set the width and height of the symbol.
You can use a true-type font character as a point symbol. Choose 'Font Symbol' from the Symbol list and then type in the font name, character to use, and size
You can use a symbol from a Symbol Library as a point symbol. Choose 'Symbol Library' from the Symbol list and then choose a Symbol Libary resource, one of the symbols in the library, and its size
