Playing around with access rights - not sure how I add Barry Hall.....

Rollo Home on June 18, 2013:

We are all systems go!

Intro to Abi and Antony who will be helping to coordinate content for the programme booklet and Rollo who is the overall programme coordinator for the event.

Rollo can you set up a basecamp group for the Booklet team and add Barry in (not the whole basecamp just this group)?

One slight change :( We are considering a lanyard with 4 A6 cards attached as a delegate pass, map, program summary. Here is an example https://basecamp.com/1920286/projects/762306-foss4g-13/comments/70566286/image_attachments (hope you can access this, if not I will ask Rollo to send images). Can we repurpose your programme design to use for these? Can you fit in at same cost?

Second possible change - we are going to edit all of the programme abstracts to a consistent length and style (big job but we think worth while) - how many words will you be able to fit in? I guess that depends on the layout/design, when will you be able to tell us?

Third possible change - which saves some money and might offset the first change! I am thinking that the QR codes whilst a neat idea may be a bit messy and is fraught with potential for errors. I am suggesting that we don't use them. Each programme entry would be Title, Speaker, Organisation, Short Abstract (BH to say how many words) and up to max 5 tags (icons)

Abi, Antony, Rollo can you suggest what other content we want in the booklet (Intros, maps etc)

Barend has offered to do the cartography for the maps and provide images, we just need to let him know sizes.

Barend Köbben on June 18, 2013:

Hi all,

Apart from sizes for the maps I also need data! For the general Nottingham map and the campus I can use OSM data, but any additional sources are welcome. I understand Jeremy would look into data for the EMCC, so we can also have a room plan ectetera. Any news on that...? (I notice Jeremy's not in this group, I will cc the message to him)

Lanyard with 4 A6 cards: There’d be an additional cost for these – I would need a detailed brief for costing.
