The following message came through to the OSGeo:UK mailing list today.

It looks like an excellent opportunity for promoting FOSS4G, although it hints that they are looking for OGGeo endorsement. I'm happy to give OSGeo:UK endorsement to this.

I have a non-financial proposal to put to OSGeo

Very interesting, and definitely an opportunity that we should take up, either from an OSGeo or FOSS4G perspective. For what it's worth, I've been trying to figure out a way to go to this event anyhow, so I'd be happy to go fly the flag for OSGeo and FOSS4G if one of those complimentary tickets would be available.

Ian, do you want to get back to them and maybe find out a bit more- and perhaps whether they'd let us promote both?

Do we have a FOSS4G flyer? There are a couple of AGI showcase events coming up that OSGeo:UK people will be presenting at.

We don't have a flier yet- that's something that's worth bringing up at the next planning meeting, I think!

Was there a response to the original question? I would suggest that this is in our interest? I would love to attract some more policy focused thinkers to our event - and perhaps even some funding (data.gov.uk being the obvious one).
