Email q on Workshop process

Posted by Barry Rowlingson on May 1, 2013

This just in on the general foss4g2013 info line. Am CCing it on Basecamp to Workshop Team to deal with it, Comms Team so we know its being dealt with, and SF as ever.
The only dates about workshops I can see on the site is "Workshop selection - early april" on the Dates page.

Dear all,
I just would ask you if the selection of the workshop is already done or
which was the final date. I remember something like 15th Maj but on the
website I found that the selection was scheduled for the beginning of
April.I submitted a workshop but didn't receive any communication (acceptance or reject) at now. Thanks for any information

Silvia

Workshop selection is in, waiting for emails to be sent out.

Barry Rowlingson on May 1, 2013:

Thanks, I'll reply with that info to Silvia. I've added "Early May - workshop announcement" to the dates page.
This Dates page is going to get very important very soon. The provisional programme graphic needs replacing...

Ian Holt on May 1, 2013:

Mark, who is doing the workshop selection mail out?

Steven Feldman on May 1, 2013:

@Ian @Mark @Matt Hopefully one of you can mail today

@Claire can you update the registration system to show 2 days of workshops and mail anyone who has registered to notify of change

@Barry @Jo can we get something on the site showing the details of the workshops

@Antony @Rollo more for the press release

@Barry more for the postings to lists

I like the delegation bit of being chairman

Claire Gilmour on May 1, 2013:

I will be updating this tomorrow.

Just to make sure it will be £60 per day?

The additional day will be on the 17th?

Steven Feldman on May 1, 2013:

I have updated the web site to show both Hackathon and Workshops running on 17th and 18th

@Claire Price for a workshop day is early bird £60 (goes up to £75 if we don't extend)

@IanEdwards We need the text on the website for the hackathon updating with some content from you

Claire Gilmour on May 2, 2013:

Hi there,

I didnt get confirmation that my workshop was accepted, but I see it listed on the website. Can you confirm that it was accepted.

Thanks!

Jeff

Can someone respond to Jeff?

Thanks
Claire

Jo Cook on May 7, 2013:

I can see that it was accepted on the final spreadsheet- did we not send emails to the workshop peeps?

Happy to respond but it probably ought to be someone from the workshop crew

Claire Gilmour on May 7, 2013:

I havent sent out an email to any of the workshop authors.  Am happy to do so if I can be given a list of accepted and rejected workshops.

Steven Feldman on May 7, 2013:

Ian Holt was going to send out the confirmation mails. Has this not happened?

Jo Cook on May 7, 2013:

It doesn't look like it- should someone else do this asap or wait for Ian to confirm?

Jo

Matt Walker on May 7, 2013:

I think we need to wait for Ian to confirm. I think he confirmed that he'd sent out confirmation mails on the call on Friday.

Matt.

Steven Feldman on May 7, 2013:
