Rooms outside EMCC

Well Shelley/DeVere are busy (with auditors this time) so still dragging their feet over answers. I've done a bit of digging in the uni room bookings system. I can see that we have the following reserved by Shelley - note, most of these are booked from Wednesday to Friday! I've noted where there's a booking either side.

Humanities Building A1, capacity 36 Flat Seminar room - Weds, Thurs, Fri [being refurbished on Monday and Tuesday!]
Humanities Building A3, capacity 108 Flat Lecture room - TUESDAY, Weds, Thurs, Fri  [already booked for Saturday]
Keighton Auditorium B60, capacity 376 Lecture Theatre - TUESDAY, Weds, Thurs, Fri
Law and Social Sciences Building - A1, capacity 80 Flat Lecture Room - Weds, Thurs, Fri
Law and Social Sciences Building - A2, capacity 40 Flat Seminar Room - Weds, Thurs, Fri

Sir Clive Granger Building - B29 Computer Teaching Room - TUESDAY, Weds, Thurs, Fri, SATURDAY
The Sir Clive Granger Building Grad. Computer Lab, capacity 30, is not on central bookings but has been booked directly. It seems to be booked just on the TUESDAY and Wednesday at present.

 There may be other rooms (I can't from the web interface search by booker / event) but these match the "further capacity" image from the proposal.

Any views on what additional bookings (especially on Saturday) I should get in the system?

All meeting rooms are classroom unless otherwise stated.

 

Please let me know if you will require all of these meeting rooms still and then I can amend booking agreement.

I'll ask for all bookings to extend to Saturday and for the George Green Library computer lab to be booked Tuesday-Saturday.


What else do we need? Only EMCC/marquee on Sunday? Any more capacity on Tuesday?

PS: Each building we want at the weekend outside EMCC will need a porter to arrange access which may have a small cost associated.

For reference, the Keighton Auditorium and the ESLC Building are a little further from EMCC (particularly the ESLC) so I'd keep these as backstops if possible though I realise that Keighton has the advantage of a higher capacity.

I can't think of anything additional- if people want informal meeting spaces on the Sunday then we can always point them at coffee shops etc!

Hi Jeremy,

My main concern are labs / rooms for Workshops (18 workshops during Tue, Wed morning & afternoon) and space for about 50 on the Sunday for the Code Sprint.

Can we arrange a chat with the workshop team and yourself to make sure we're covered? The only day I can't do this week is Thursday.

Probably has to be Friday for me this week.

As we discussed on the call the other day, we should have the following:
Sir Clive Granger Graduate Computer Lab (30 PCs)
Sir Clive Granger B29 (97 PCs, dividable in two)
Hallward Library PC lab (30PCs)
George Green Library lab (62, I think, dividable).

So once everything is properly booked we should be able to support 4 or 5 parallel sessions in labs.  We can also book a set of ~20 laptops from Horizon here to set up in one of the seminar room spaces too if need be.

Some progress on rooms - bookings have been extended to Saturday, so the bookings are as listed below. Do we need the Law & Social Sciences rooms on Saturday (or at all)?

The George Green Library lab is out of action that week (there's building work going on) - I'll confirm asap the availability of an alternative in the Trent Building.
