Workshop and presenters info

Posted by Steven Feldman on July 29, 2013

Matt suggested that we should post a clarification for anyone presenting a workshop that they would need to purchase a conference pass to attend the conference.
Before I do that I wondered whether it would be helpful to have a page of info for workshop and session presenters, an FAQ if you like. We could cover conference passes, AV equipment, reminder that we will be videoing, uploading to ELOGeo and anything else that people think of, could work in addition to (maybe even better than) posting to a list.
If yes to the suggestion, where should the page appear on the menu?

Great idea. I think it could go under the "About FOSS4G" section on the menu and it should be in addition to posting to the lists so that people have less excuse to ignore it.

@Matt can you have a first go at drafting something? I will draft a short sentence on charging (keeping costs lower for everyone)

I have briefing notes for the presenters at AGI Showcase in Glasgow if you want a look Matt - will dig it out a bit later.....
I was planning a briefing based on the format from showcase for the volunteers - eg where they need to be at what time, who to speak to if there is a problem etc

Matt Walker on July 29, 2013:

Happy to get a draft together.

@abi That would be great Abi thanks :-)

Matt Walker on July 31, 2013:

Hi Abi,

Could you send over a copy of the AGI notes for presenters? I may have a chance to draft something tomorrow.

Thanks,

Matt.

Abi Page on July 31, 2013:

Hi Matt - Sorry thanks for the prompt.

Attached are the 3 briefings we did (there is some repetition, but I think worth sharing them all anyway). They are a crib from previous documents from Claire and my office event people.

I've just saved an initial draft of presenter info here which once we're happy can be moved over to the website. I've had a best guess at some aspects such as Equipment for the main sessions so feel free to edit away if you know better :-)

I'm on holiday this coming week but should be available via email intermittently.
