Hi all,
Here's a draft HTML email to go out in an AGI mailing list mailshot (by Claire), and also to be sent to sponsors (by Steven), with a suggestion that they might want to send it (or an amended version) to their customers/followers/whatever. Open to suggestions for improvements in content/design, but we should move quickly bearing in mind early bird deadlines.

Barry Rowlingson on May 14, 2013:

The gifs are seriously ugly renderings. Look like they've been done using some dithered palette. Is the AGI stuck in 1995 web design? Oh, its a Word document saved as HTML.... Hmmm...

Antony Scott on May 14, 2013:

Ha! Actually me that’s stuck in 1995 web design – that’s when I learned to do it. Outlook not Word, but close. FOSS4G logo from style page, OSGeo from website... Happy for you to bring it into 2013 ☺

Barry Rowlingson on May 14, 2013:

In an email I'd stick to plain text, with a link to the web site! There's PNG files in the zip but if I unzip it and look at the .htm file it loads the GIF versions. I don't know what is required for the AGI mailout...

Antony Scott on May 14, 2013:

The AGI use HTML, will send you an example. Claire asked for that, but for other purposes we can plain text it.

Barry Rowlingson on May 14, 2013:

yes, but how does Claire put it all together into a mailout? One lot of HTML might not work with another lot...

I've just sent something to you and her that might fit the bill.
