Outstanding Facilities

In the heart of downtown Victoria, by the spectacular Inner Harbour, is the Victoria Conference Centre (VCC), a state-of-the-art facility that is at once warm, sophisticated and inviting.  With 3,716 sq. metres (40,000 sq. feet) of meeting space, 16 multi-purpose meeting rooms, a large exhibit hall, and a 400-seat lecture theatre, the VCC provides just the right space for meetings of all sizes – small enough to be intimate, but able to handle functions with as many as 2,000 delegates.

Atrium at Victoria Conference CentreYou’ll be struck by the VCC’s comfort, its bright, airy spaces, welcoming atmosphere and technological capabilities. Step inside and the open prefunction area and magnificent atrium greet you. The glass canopy over the Douglas Street entrance echoes the adjoining Fairmont Empress conservatory. Four stunning pieces of First Nations art – three totem poles and a large-scale Spindle Whorl – provide culture and grace. And in the lower atrium, the ferns and lilies set a lush, sub-tropical scene.

The Space: flexible, varied, and accommodating.

photoLevel One provides a spacious reception area, a 400-seat lecture theatre and seven various-sized meeting rooms. The Business and Technology Services Centre is also housed there.

Level Two provides another spacious reception area, six more meeting rooms and a large banquet/exhibit hall that can be divided into three salons. For the convenience of guests, the underground parking garage is directly accessible to both meeting levels.

Exhibit areas. At the VCC, the large and versatile exhibit areas measure up for everything. The 14,000-square foot Carson Hall has seating for 1,500, meal service for 1,080 and space for 100 exhibit booths. Built-in translation booths, programmable light controls and full high-tech capabilities are just a few of this adaptable room’s features.

The lecture theatre has permanent tiered seating for 400. With a full depth stage and built-in projection and translation booths and writing tablets at each seat, it is the perfect environment in which to deliver your convention message. Also, VCC is completely wheelchair accessible.

Food and Beverage: Delectable offerings from a renowned kitchen

Catering arrangements are skillfully provided by the world famous Fairmont Empress Hotel. Whether a simple continental breakfast or a spectacular ‘themed’ banquet, VCC iscommitted to making your event a success. A selection of varied menus and services will be provided that can be modified or customized to your exact requirements.

VCC Technology

photoWired for sound, video, multimedia, electronic networking and speed VCC technical services range from the trade show floor, to conference rooms, to videoconferencing and electronic delegate services, and can provide access to all kinds of presentation and multimedia experiences: video recording, multi-image staging, webcasting, high-speed Internet access and special effects. VCC also offers a wireless Internet solution. This means, among other things, that VCC can move the location of the base station to anywhere inside the Conference Centre for added flexibility for your presentations and displays.

The in-house audiovisual supplier is the largest in Western Canada, and there to provide on-site support for all your technology needs, both set-up, and monitoring. All the high-speed connectivity and visual mediums you require are also available via Internet services, live feeds and traditional multi-media.

On-site Business Centre and other services

The Business Centre is there when you need it. The centre is a home away from home for delegates and event planners, providing all the support needed to work while away from the office. Data communications services for videoconferencing are available, and delegates can access the Internet and send and receive e-mail and faxes on site.
