Welcome Reception, Sunday, September 23 at The Sticky Wicket

Stickey WicketMeet colleagues from around the world and reacquaint yourselves with old friends at a Welcome Reception held in one of Victoria’s premier entertainment venues.

The Sticky Wicket Pub & Restaurant is an institution in Victoria. The beautiful wood interior -- including dividers, glass, and a long teak bar -- spent many years in Dublin before being shipped to Victoria, making it about as original an Irish bar as you're likely to find. Located in the Strathcona Hotel, the Sticky Wicket can provide banquet, meeting and event facilities tailored to business or pleasure, from an intimate corporate gathering to a fully hosted unique event for 1200.

Banquet, Wednesday, September 26 at The Royal BC Museum

Dinner at the Royal BC MuseumAs the Conference comes to a close, join friends, new and old, for a grand celebration and send-off in West Coast style at the historic Royal BC Museum.  The Museum lies in the very heart of the city and, like the city that surrounds it, is rich in history and resplendent in natural beauty.

Situated on the historic Inner Harbour, the Museum, one of the foremost cultural institutions in the world, is within an eight-minute walk of most major hotels in downtown Victoria. The Victoria Conference Center is only one block away, making the venue easily accessible to conference attendees.

The Museum gives guests a chance to see, feel and taste the history of British Columbia.  Three permanent exhibit galleries are available for private events following regular visiting hours:

  • The Natural History Gallery, where guests can dine with a Wooly Mammoth, a grizzly bear or a sea lion looking on.
  • The Modern History Gallery, which displays Captain Vancouver's ship, a water wheel and an old town, all perfect settings for entertainment and learning about the early days of British Columbia.
  • The breathtaking First People's Gallery showcasing the majestic totems and rare examples of First Nations Arts.  Guests can dine on First Nations foods while watching a traditional First Nations performance.

Whether the setting is an old town, among the totems of the First Peoples Gallery, or in the wildlife in a Coastal Rainforest, this banquet will create its own history.
